• Girard, Fitch, Canfield boys, Poland girls pick up wins at United Way Holiday Classic (tribtoday.com) — Girard fans can celebrate as the Indians boys basketball team beat Campbell 55-34 at the United Way Holiday Classic, giving coach Nick Canterino his 100th career win. The tournament also saw strong showings from Canfield’s boys, Austintown Fitch’s boys, and Poland’s girls, but Girard’s press defense and Braxton Sloan’s 20 points headlined the night for local supporters.
