Krumreig will also perform as a soloist with the B-W Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dwight Oltman on Wednesday, March 2 at 8 pm at the Kulas Musical Arts Building, 96 Front Street, Berea.  The concert will feature Benjamin Britten’s “Serenade” for tenor horn and strings, which is considered of the standard repertoire for both tenor and horn.

Krumreig will be featured in six movements and the remaining two will feature solo horn.  The work incorporates lyrics using the poetry of Charles Cotton, Alfred Lord Tennyson, William Blake, Ben Johnson, John Keats and The Lyke-Wake Dirge.  Rather than speaking of nature and love, this work focuses on the passing of time the coming of the end, on death.  “Britten’s music lets us think of these dark subjects in a beautiful and refreshing way,” adds Krumreig.
