Lakewood Nurse Wins Pediatric Nursing Award

Colleen Forster, of Lakewood, a staff nurse at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, has been awarded an Excellence in Clinical Practice Award from the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN). She will receive the award in April at the national conference in Las Vegas.

Forster was recognized for significant contributions to the care of children and their families. The recipient demonstrates evidence of outstanding professional clinical performance with a focus on continued improvements in the care of children and families through direct care, mentoring, and child advocacy activities. In addition, the recipient must be directly involved in the nursing care of children and their families.

SPN is the only broad-based pediatric nursing organization founded for all nurses involved in the care of children and families. Society members include staff nurses, school and outpatient nurses, clinical nurse specialists, practitioners, administrators, educators and researchers. The Society offers its members the opportunity to interact with colleagues of similar interests, and to share ideas, research and expertise.
