1. CCRTA hosts DAHS choir at final meeting of the year (salemnews.net) — Lisbon residents may be pleased to know the Columbiana County Retired Teachers Association wrapped up its year with a meeting at Lisbon United Methodist Church, highlighted by performances from the Lisbon High School choir. Members handled routine business, discussed dues and volunteer hours due by Dec. 31, and enjoyed a luncheon prepared by the church’s Women of Faith group.
   

2. Ohio releases 2026 fair dates, including the Valley (wfmj.com) — Lisbon residents can mark their calendars now: the 2026 Columbiana County Fair in Lisbon is scheduled for August 3–9, giving families a full week of rides, shows, and 4-H exhibits close to home. The state also confirmed dates for nearby Trumbull and Mahoning county fairs and the Ohio State Fair, outlining a full summer of regional fair options.
   

3. Richard J. Simballa, Lisbon, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Lisbon is mourning the passing of Richard “Rick” Simballa, 67, who was raised on a family farm in Lisbon and graduated from Southern Local High School. Though he spent his later years in South Carolina, he leaves close family in Lisbon and East Liverpool, and is remembered for his faith, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his wife Susan.
   

4. 2025 Ohio All-State Football Award winners (wkbn.com) — Lisbon running back Ashton Hinchliffe has been named First Team All-Ohio in Division VII, standing out among top high school football players statewide. The piece also lists numerous other area athletes earning first team, second team, third team, and honorable mention All-State honors across Ohio’s divisions, underscoring a strong year for Mahoning Valley football programs.
