Aqua Ohio Customers' Bills Could Rise
The company is attempting to recoup money spent on water line improvements in the city.
Aqua Ohio customers in Mentor could see a slight bump in their bills following a filing with the state utility regulator.
The company wants to recover money it spent improving various water lines in the city over the past year. If the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approves Aqua Ohio's March 5 filing, bills could rise by $1.
PUCO spokesman Jason Gilham said the regulator would have up to 275 days to consider the file, but it's not likely that officials would use that maximum.

Aqua Ohio spent about $2.4 million replacing water lines on Prospect Street, Crossfield Avenue, Stoney Brook Lane and Hopkins, Headlands and Blackbrook roads.Â
Gilham said Aqua Ohio last requested a rate increase in December 2011 and received approval last February.
