Bake a Cake on a Grill: Mentor Library Hosts Outdoor Cooking Demonstration

Outdoor sporting goods store representatives teach patrons to bake a cake outdoors and answered questions about tailgating, campfire cooking and smoking

Baking a cake is probably the last thing a hungry camper thinks they can do outside.

But patrons at the Mentor Public Library learned how last week, with help from representatives of an outdoor sporting goods store, as part of a series for camping, hunting and fishing enthusiasts.

Gander Mountain sent outdoor cooking experts to the library May 16 to teach a seminar on outdoor cooking. While the "chocolate-cherry dump cake" baked, the representatives answered questions about tailgating, smoking and campfire cooking.
