Browns Fan Who Put Head In Bucket Of Urine Was Off-Duty Mentor Police Officer

Mentor Police Chief Daniel Llewellyn has confirmed to WKYC that the Browns fan who put his head in a bucket of urine for $450 while tailgaiting this past Sunday is an off-duty Mentor police officer.

Llewellyn told the news station that Officer Phil Croucher is an "exceptional" officer who has earned 14 commendations for his work during his tenure with the department, including praise from Secret Service and the FBI.

However, Llewellyn also said that he was disappointed with Croucher's judgment.

"This is not reminiscent of his 16-year career with the department," Llewellyn said.

Llewellyn told Fox 19 that the department learned about Croucher's actions on Thursday.

Croucher was then checked by a doctor to make sure he was not a medical risk to the public or himself. He has since been cleared and returned to full duty.

Llewellyn said an internal investigation of the incident has begun to see if Croucher's actions fit the definition of conduct unbecoming of an off-duty officer. The chief also said that the department is developing a clear policy for how officers should act, even when off-duty, according to WKYC.

A video of the dare, which has been posted on YouTube, had been watched almost 200,000 times as of Friday.
