City Council To Vote On Expanded Road Repair Program Tonight

There may be more construction than expected in Mentor this summer -- and that's actually a good thing.
Mentor's extensive 2012 road repair program cost the city less than expected.
Consequently, the city's administration is recommending spending the unanticipated windfall on additional concrete and asphalt repairs on Mentor roads.

Mentor City Council can vote on a pair of road program contracts during its meeting at 7 p.m. today (May 1) at .
The first proposed contract would give an additional $190,000 to Chagrin Valley Paving for the asphalt resurfacing of Old Johnnycake Ridge Road, Crossfield Avenue (west of Broadmoor) and Culver Boulevard.

Additionally, Chagrin Valley would also do full-depth asphalt repairs on Jackson Street.
A second contract would pay TC Construction Company an additional $101,500 for 1,750 more square yards of concrete work.
If approved, the concret work would be done on Aspenwood, Cannon Ridge, Canterbury, Catalpa Circle, Curberry, Foxwood, Gatewood, Norwood, Pinewood, Ramblewood, Snowberry and Yellowwood.
