Comics & Friends To Celebrate Free Comic Book Day

G.I. Joe comic book artists Josh Medors and Sean Farney will also be at the Mentor comic book store Saturday

G.I. Joe comic book artists Josh Medors and Sean Forney will appear at Comics and Friends in to sign comics on Saturday as part of Free Comic Book Day.

The local creators of Vampire Gazette, Chris Lambert and David Russell, will also be at the shop.

Across the country, all major comic book publishers including Marvel, DC, Dark Hose, Image and Archie offer a variety of free comics on May 5 that were created specially for the event.

Comics and Friends has participated in Free Comic Book Day since it opened.

In addition to drawing G.I. Joe, Medors has drawn Moon Knight for Marvel, Grimm Fairy Tales for Zenescope, Fused for Dark Horse and 30 Days of Knight for IDW. Meanwhile, Forney has also worked on Scarlet Huntress.

Lambert and Russell will have new issues of Vampire Gazette and Bystander Presents available on Saturday.

Furthermore, Lambert and Russell will be among the special guests at the on June 3.

The comic convention will once again be hosted by the mall. It will include a costume contest, free screenings of superhero movies, creator-run discussion panels and hourly door prizes.

The convention will be headlined by Avengers artist and Liberty Meadows Frank Cho creator.
