Construction To Close Parts Of Route 2, Center Street In Mentor

The Ohio Department of Transportation will close lanes on a portion of Route 2 from Friday evening through Monday morning as construction continues on the interstate.

Construction crews will close two westbound lanes on Route 2 between Lost Nation Road and Center Street from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday in order to perform pavement repairs.

Additionally, the final paving of Center Street near the Route 2 ramps began Thursday, according to the city of Mentor's web site.

Consequently, lane restrictions and traffic delays are expected for the next day or two.

The pavement repairs on the interstate follows the state's Route 2 widening project.

The $181 million investment added lanes and improved noise and drainage issues along the route, according to ODOT.
