Road Worker Hospitalized After Dump Truck Backs Into Him
Man was working on the Center Street repaving Thursday afternoon

A construction worker was hospitalized after a dump truck backed into him about 5 p.m. Thursday, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen.
The man was working on Center Street, near the Route 2 eastbound entrance ramp.
The truck knocked him backward and ran over one of his legs, Allen said.

Mentor Fire Department took him to Lake West Medical Center. From there, he was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, Allen said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
The man's name was not released Thursday evening. He is 53 years old and lives in Cortland, Ohio.
