Former AMVETs, Dodge Clark Buildings May Have New Tenants Soon
Planning commission may vote on permits for a pool hall that wants to open in the former AMVETs building and a plumbing company that wants to move into former Dodge Clark dealership

The Planning Commission can vote on requested permits for several businesses that are looking to move in and into Mentor during its meeting 7 p.m. today at ο»ΏCity Hallο»Ώ.
For example, a pair of entrepreneurs would like to open a pool hall and game room in the former AMVETs building at 4679 Corduroy Road.
The pool hall, Cy's Place, would have a pair of pool tables, darts, ping-pong, foosball, air hockey, corn hole and a snack shop, according to the report that was prepared for the Planning Commission.

What it would not have is a liquor license. Charles Young and Joseph Short, the applicants, said the business will not serve beer or alcohol.
The business has requested a conditional use permit to run the pool hall, as well as another permit to allow dining outside.

At the same meeting, Planning Commission may vote on a permit for Cleveland Plumbing Supply Company to move into the former Dodge Clark dealership at 7272 Mentor Ave.
They would like to run a plumbing supply company warehouse and wholesaling operation.
The Cleveland Plumbing Supply Company is a family-operated business that's been around since 1932 in Northeast Ohio and has leased a location on Tyler Boulevard since 1982.
The business has eight employees in Mentor right now but would like to expand.
Also at the meeting:
- A new restaurant -- Scrambler Marie's Breakfast Bistro -- would like to build a patio at its address, 9570 Mentor Ave, Unit A.
- The would like to return for a second year.
- Cleveland Fitness Group is seeking a permit to open a new Fitness Club at Heisley Point Shopping Center.
