'Intense' Lake Effect Snow Possible In Mentor: Forecast

Two inches of snow, icy roads and reduced visibility could develop as the band moves toward land.

MENTOR, OH — An "intense" band of lake effect snow could hit Mentor and surrounding communities on Thursday morning.

Up to 2 inches of snow could fall in approximately one hour, the National Weather Service warned, and road conditions could deteriorate quickly. Spots of slick ice could form and visibility could drop to less than a quarter mile as the storm develops.

"Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this lake effect snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until this snow band passes your location," the National Weather Service warned.
