• West Virginia's Scotty Fox of Mentor on finish to 2025 season: ‘A little unexpected' (news-herald.com) — Mentor football fans can follow former Mentor High standout Scotty Fox as he reflects on an unexpectedly eventful freshman season as West Virginia’s quarterback. After early ups and downs, he finished the year as starter, posted multiple 300-yard passing games, and now heads into 2026 positioned to compete for the Mountaineers’ top job.
   

• Wreaths Across America seeks to remember those who have served (news-herald.com) — Mentor residents were part of a moving Wreaths Across America ceremony at Riverside Cemetery in nearby Painesville, where two Mentor High School students performed the national anthem. About 100 people, including youth groups and veterans’ organizations, laid wreaths on veterans’ graves as organizers emphasized remembering each service member by name. Additional ceremonies continue across Lake County, with opportunities to sponsor wreaths through year’s end.
