Lake Catholic Boys Soccer Team Advances To District Finals; Cardinals Fall To Cleveland Heights

Both the Mentor High and Lake Catholic boys soccer teams played in their respective district semifinals Wednesday.

Sadly, it turned out to be the final game of the season.

The Cardinals (11-6-1) fell to Cleveland Heights 1-0. Brad Sackett nabbed three saves for Mentor.

Meanwhile, the Cougars topped Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 2-1. Joe Korb scored both of Lake Catholic's goals.

The Cougars have gone from 2-12-3 to 12-4-2 in a a year. (For more coverage from the game, check out The News-Herald story.)

Lake Catholic will play against University School in Hunting Valley with the district championship and a regional berth at stake.
