Local Basketball Teams Prepare For Playoffs This Weekend

No, it's not a rerun. It's a rematch.

's boys and girls basketball teams, as well as 's boys team, are facing familiar opponents this weekend.

First, the Lake Catholic girls will face Hathaway Brown in their regional final at 7:30 p.m. today in Barberton. The winner moves on to the final four. The season ends for the loser.

The Cougars will be looking for some revenge, as Hathaway Brown is the same team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year when they met in the regional final.

The Lake Catholic boys are in a similar situation. They play John Hay in their district final Saturday in Saybrook Township.

John Hay and Lake Catholic met in last year's district final, as well, with John Hay coming out on top.

Finally, the Mentor High boys basketball team will face Brush in their district final this Saturday in Euclid.

The Mentor-Brush meet-up has become an annual tradition. These two have met in the district final for the last four years. Last year, the Cardinals came out on top.
