Police say man was advertising prostitutes on Craigslist

Mentor Police arrested a man who is accused of promoting prostitution.

They arrested John Moleterno, 44, of Chester Township, on Tuesday.

Moleterno advertised the sexual services of two women on Craigslist, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen said.

An undercover police officer arranged with Moleterno to meet the women at a motel Tuesday in Mentor. After Moleterno split the money with the women, police arrested him, Allen said.

Police also confiscated Moleterno's laptop computer, USB drive, digital camera and butterfli knife.

Moleterno was charged with promoting prostitution and possession of criminals and arraigned Wednesday afternoon in .

Judge John Trebets set Moleterno's bond at $15,000, which was not posted.

Moleterno's next cout hearing is scheduled for April 26.

If convicted on both charges, Moleterno could face up to 2 1/2 years in prison.
