Man Admits To Stealing, Selling His Grandfather's Guns

Christopher Campbell will be sentenced May 14

A has admitted to stealing his grandfather's guns.

Christopher Campbell, 22, of Orwell, pleaded guilty to felony theft Monday morning in Lake County Common Pleas Judge Vincent Culotta's courtroom.

Culotta will sentence him May 14. Campbell faces between one and five years in prison.

During his hearing, Campbell also admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the week. If he tests positive for it, he will be arrested for violating his bond.

Campbell was arrested after he stole three guns from his grandfather's house in Mentor in December.

Police went to Campbell's home in Ashtabula County after his sibling said he saw him looking through his grandfather's closet. Officers found Campbell hiding beneath a bed, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page.
