Man Is In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Train

A man is in critical but stable condition in the hospital after he was struck by a train Thursday in Mentor.
Zlatko Rosandic, 52, of Eastlake, was working at one of his two jobs that evening. He was on his coffee break and went to cross the CSX tracks at the dead end of Industrial Parkway, Mentor Fire Battalion Chief Joe Busher .
Mentor Police are still investigating how the crash occurred. Authorities think Rosandic was crossing the tracks so he could get something to eat or drink from a nearby restaurant.

Rosandic was taken to Lake West Medical Center. From there, he was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
As of 7:30 a.m. Monday, a nurse said Rosandic was in critical but stable condition.

Rosandic suffered severe injuries, including the loss of his foot.
Busher said that, by all appearances, the collision was unintentional on the part of the Rosandic and the train conductor.
