Shooting At Mentor Condos: 2 People Hurt, Suspect Identified
A 27-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were hurt when gunfire erupted Friday morning.
MENTOR, OH — Two people were shot inside the Independence Condos in Mentor on Friday morning.
Gunshots were heard in the neighborhood at 5:30 a.m., a city official told Patch. When Mentor police arrived they found a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman who had been shot. Both were shot in their "lower extremities" but their injuries were not life threatening, officials said.
The 27-year-old and the 23-year-old were taken to Hillcrest Hospital by Mentor EMS. On Friday afternoon, Mentor police and the U.S. Marshals took a person into custody in connection with the shooting. The identity of the suspect has not been released.

The shooting happened inside the condo, city officials said. Police believe the gunman targeted both people.
