MENTOR, OH — Heavy snowfall is expected in Mentor on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

"Temperatures will drop into the lower 30s and will likely cause road surfaces; especially bridges and overpasses to cool enough to allow snow to accumulate," the National Weather Service warned.

The heaviest snowfall is likely to occur between midnight and 7 a.m. on Friday, according to forecasts. Drivers should expect their morning commute on Friday to be slippery and dangerous. Try to build extra travel time into your plans, if you can.

After Friday's snow subsides, the rest of the weekend should be relatively calm. Temperatures will climb into the mid-40s and no other precipitation, snow or rain, is expected on Saturday. Some rain could fall on Sunday, though temperatures will likely be too warm for it to become snow.
