Mentor police were given a grant to bolster their enforcement of traffic laws.
MENTOR, OH — A $58,000 grant has been awarded to Mentor police to boost traffic law enforcement.
The grant was issued by the Ohio Department of Public Safety. The department will use the money to crack down on impaired and distracted driving, speeding, and enforce seat belt use, the city said in a statement.
"The Mentor Police Department would like to remind everyone to practice safe driving habits. Wear your seatbelt, don’t text and drive, and if you are drinking, pass your keys to a sober driver," the department said in a statement.
