Wildwood Cultural Center Offering Free Self-Defense, Security Classes
The classes cover everything from Internet safety to personal self-defense

The is presenting a series of public service meetings on family and personal security and safety.
These sessions are free and open to the public. They will be led by police officers from local departments, as well as other safety professionals.
All sessions will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on listed Tuesdays in the South Wing at Wildwood Cultural Center.

While both adults and children are welcome to attend these sessions. children must be accompanied by a parent.

- April 17 - Crime Prevention: Lean how to reduce the risk of crime at your home, office or college dorm and throughout the neighborhood. Donβt miss the segments on preventing car break-ins and parking lot/street attacks. The presenters are Sgt. Mike Knack and Officer Ed Bonchak of the Euclid Police Department.
- April 24 - Practical Self-Defense for All Ages: Learn how to turn difficult situations in your favor with weapon and weaponless training provided by Sergeant Mike Knack (Self-Defense Trainer). Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing for personalized instruction.
- May 1 - Internet Crime: The up to the minute information you need to know on cyber-bullying, identity theft and more. This is ideal for adults and children seventh grade through high school. The presenter will be Lake County Narcotics Agent George Willis.
- May 15 - Drug Related Crime, Detection and Prevention: Discover current trends in adult and student drug use and its effect on families and communities. Learn how to use community services to solve addiction and prevention problems, as well as how to detect drug use in its early stages. Presenters are Mentor Police Officer Marilyn Satterfield and Lake County Narcotics Agent George Willis.
- May 22 - In Case of Emergency! Hereβs the information you need to survive or assist family and friends during medical emergencies, accidents, evacuations and natural disasters. Learn life-saving techniques for common emergency situations are included in the program. The presenter is Officer Shawn Parker of the Kirtland Hills Police Department.
