Winter Storm Hits Mentor: City Deploys 30 Snow Plows
The city of Mentor deployed 30 snow plows to remove snow, officials said on social media, and they will clear main roads first.
MENTOR, OH — Nearly a foot of snow dropped Sunday night and Monday morning on many Northeast Ohio communities, including Mentor.
The National Weather Service predicted that between 10 and 12 inches of snow fell for most of Mentor overnight. Parts of the community could have received even more snow, the agency said.
On Monday morning, Mentor police issued a plea to residents, asking them to stay off the roads, "unless you absolutely have to be somewhere this morning." The city also issued a street parking ban that will remain in effect until further notice.

A rotation of 30 snow plows have been clearing the streets of Mentor since 7 p.m. Sunday night, city officials said on social media. During any snow event, plows will focus first on main city roads, to the benefit of the greatest number of drivers.
Once main roads have been cleared and salted, plows will move to side streets and cul-de-sacs.
