5 Police Department Facebook Pages We Wish Were Better And Some That Are Better

Police departments are working harder to stay connected with the community and many use Facebook to do it.

Some police departments use Facebook to talk to residents. But it's not as easy as it looks.Β We've ranked some nearby police department pages from *sad face*Β to awesome. If you're looking for some really great pages, check out these five pages to like in Summit County.Β

5. The North Canton Police department's Facebook page has 272 followers butΒ they don't update it very much. The last post was inΒ mid-June about a child safety event. Before that, they posted inΒ April promoting aΒ drug take-back event. *sad face*

4. The Canton Police department Facebook page is flush with followers -- 2,408 -- but the last time they posted was in May. Not many photos, no crime reports at all. Room to grow.Β

3. TheΒ Alliance Police department's Facebook pageΒ has greatΒ potential. With 10,000 followers, they have a huge audience. They use photos well, share media reports, power outages, mugshots of wanted criminals and lost pet photos. But, they've only been using the page to communicate a few times in July. We want more!

2. The Canal Fulton Police department's Facebook page has nearly 4,500 followers and has lots of news on it and they even respond to residents who comment on the page. They postΒ car accident photos, traffic reports, dash cam photos, and mug shots of criminals. Nice!

1. TheΒ Marlboro Police department's Facebook pageΒ has 4,100 followers and posts lots of news. They post surveillance photos, lost pet photos, congratulations to officers, mug shots of wanted criminals and even photos of what the officers do in their free time -- includingΒ bodybuilding. Awesome!
