Fairways to Fight Hunger Tees Off to Help Drive Out Hunger

Stark County Hunger Task Force leads the battle against hunger in Stark County the fundraiser aims to raise money to continue the battle.

From Stark County Task Force: While golfers choose between a nine iron and a wedge, many of our neighbors are choosing between food and medication or between heat and food for their family. Join the Stark County Hunger Task Force at the Sanctuary Golf Course to help drive out hunger during Fairways to Fight Hunger June 10. Tee off at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start during this 18-hole golf scramble on the challenging course at 207 Applegrove St. NW, North Canton.

Fees are $80 a golfer or $300 for a foursome for golf, a cart, a hot dog at the turn, dinner, skill contests and hole-in-one prizes To register and pay on line go to starkhunger.org/golf2017 or send a check, payable to Stark County Hunger Task Force to PO Box 20941, Canton, Ohio 44701. Sponsorships at various levels from $150 to $3,000 remain available to really help our neighbors struggling to put food on the family table. Donations are tax deductible.   1. We feed 29,000 individuals per month
  2. 33 percent of our clients are children
  3. 14 percent of our clients are seniors
  4. Provide seven pounds of food for every dollar we raise
  5. Support a network of over 30 pantries in Stark County
  6. Supplement children with additional food support through our Backpack for Kids program as over 20,000 are in need right here in Stark County. No child should go to bed hungry.

Founded in 1981, Stark County Hunger Task Force at 408 9th St. SW, Canton, leads the battle against hunger in Stark County. Operating almost entirely on donations, SCHTF provides free groceries to an average of nearly 29,000 individuals every month through more than 30 food pantries, β€œBackpacks for Kids” programs and an emergency pantry.
