• Former North Canton employee found guilty of vehicular homicide (cantonrep.com) — A former North Canton city street department employee has been found guilty of vehicular homicide after a city truck fatally struck a 78-year-old North Canton resident in a crosswalk last April. The judge ordered a presentence investigation, with sentencing set for Feb. 10, while special officials handled the case due to a court employee’s family connection.
   

• ODNR Awards 6 Grants to Boost Local Economies (warrencountypost.com) — North Canton is receiving a $3 million state grant to locate and fix abandoned underground coal mines beneath the Stratavon Drive area, then redevelop the land for commercial and recreation uses. The funding is part of six ODNR projects across Ohio aimed at turning former coal sites into safer, more productive community assets.
