The Shaker League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization. Members attend City, School and Library meetings and write observer reports. Here are the highlights of the Shaker Heights Safety and Public Works Committee meeting on October 1, 2021.

  • Following a lengthy debate, the committee approved a deer culling contract for the 2021-22 year, with one member dissenting
  • The request to seek a $20,000 federal grant for new trees at Lower Lake and Southerly Park and Hildana Park, with a $20,000 City match, was approved
  • Both measures go to the City Finance Committee and full Council for final approval
