Murder Trial Begins Today In Shaker Heights Murder Case
Steven Rackley is accused of fatally stabbing and robbing Mitchell Perry in the backyard of a home on Scottsdale Boulevard
The murder trial of Steven Rackley is scheduled to begin Monday morning in Cuyahoga Common Pleas Judge Nancy McDonnell's court.
Rackley, 42, of Garfield Heights, is accused of fatally stabbing and robbing Mitchell Perry in the backyard of a home on Scottsdale Boulevard in Shaker Heights.
The suspected homicide occurred on November 8, 2006.

Perry -- who is from Richmond Heights and was then 26 years old -- was found lying face down in the yard. He died from a single stab wound to chest, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.
The knife used to stab him was found a short distance from Perry.

Investigators used DNA evidence that was found on the knife to identify Rackley, prosecutors said.
Rackley was charged with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
He was arrested June 19, 2012.
