Opus Co-owner Talks About What He Has Learned In Nightclub/Restaurant Business

Claude Carson told The Plain Dealer the differences in how he ran his nightclub, Club Alchemy, and how he runs Opus

Claude Carson is the co-owner of several local restaurants, including OPUS Restaurant in Shaker Heights and Harvard Wine & Grille and the new Take 5 Rhythm and Jazz Tapas Lounge in Cleveland.

The Plain Dealer recently profiled Carson as part of its My Biggest Mistake series.

In the interview, he discussed the mistakes he made with Club Alchemy -- his now closed nightclub in the Flats -- and how he approaches business differently now.

He told The Plain Dealer:

It's rare for a nightclub to last for many years, and I chose to ignore the life cycle of the nightclub industry. Over time, most clubs undergo face-lifts, name changes and sometimes changes in ownership. I did none of those things.
