Parts Of South Woodland Road Closing Monday For 6 Weeks

Anyone that uses the route during their commute will want to find a different path. Delays are expected for traffic.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — South Woodland Road will be closed between Lee and Warrensville Center roads for six weeks, starting Monday. Only local traffic will be permitted during the construction period, and all other traffic will be detoured away from South Woodland. The city said to expect delays.

Crews from Dominion Energy will be working in the area, doing a natural gas pipeline replacement project. The six week timeline is dependent on the weather.

School bus routes will be maintained, but delays are expected. The city said it expects bus stops to remain the same during construction, but different parts of the project may require minor adjustments to bus stop locations. The Shaker Heights City Schools will share that information should adjustments be necessary.

Emergency service vehicles will still have full access to the street during construction. Landscape and other service vehicles will need to detour to Shaker Boulevard and park on side streets, the city said.
