A Shaker Heights police officer tried to pull over a driver with a traffic warrant on Feb. 27 near the intersection of Millerton and Sutton roads.

However, the driver sped away instead of stopping.

Instead of chasing him, the officer opted to find the driver later because he knew the person.

Police arrested him later that day and charged him with driving under suspension and fleeing and eluding.

Too soon to be stocking up for St. Patrick's Day

Shaker Heights Police nabbed a 20-year-old man who tried to shoplift corned beef, donuts and swiss cheese from Heinen's grocery store on March 1.

Not that there's a right place to steal a phone

A woman reported that her cell phone was stolen while she was at the Heights Christian Church on March 4.

Alert neighbor spots trespassers

An alert resident noticed four teenagers lurking around a car in the backyard of a home in the 3300 block of Chaffant.

The neighbor called police who came to the home.

All of the teenagers tried to run. Two of them were caught and charged with trespassing.
