Shaker City Council reviews 2022 Capital Budget: $9.8 million

- The City's 2022 Capital Budget proposal of $9.8 million was presented. Major capital projects include repaving Chagrin Blvd., first phase of the Lynnfield/Lomond sanitary sewer overflow and design of new Van Aken RTA station. The presentation may be seen here:
- The proposed 10-year Capital plan was also presented and totals $113.7 million. Major projects include the Lee Road Corridor and a new Thornton Ice Rink.

- Several residents objected to Shaker police treatment of young black bicycle riders. Mayor and Police Chief are investigating. The new DEI Committee and DEI Officer are reviewing the incident, a video is available here: https://www.facebook.com/watch...
- Several residents, in written public comment, objected to Shaker police treatment of young black bicycle riders in a video posted on Facebook; Mayor Weiss and Chief DeMuth are investigating and promise appropriate action. The incident will also be reviewed by the new DEI Committee and DEI Officer Colleen Jackson.
