Shaker Heights HS alum lands photography job in Sacramento

Class of 2016 Shaker Heights High School graduate Hannah Ruhoff joins The Sacramento Bee as Assistant Visuals Editor

After working four years in southern Mississippi, Hannah Ruhoff moved to California, joining The Sacramento Bee as Assistant Visuals Editor. Her start date was July 28, 2025.

Ruhoff graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 2016 and Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication in 2020. She completed photography internships at The Virginian-Pilot and Cincinnati Enquirer. In college, Ruhoff was Photo Editor of the award-winning student publication, The Post.

After college, Ruhoff worked four years at the Sun Herald newspaper based in Biloxi, Mississippi. Early this year, she helped cover the Super Bowl in New Orleans. The Sun Herald and The Sacramento Bee are operated by McClatchy Media.
