Shaker High National Merit Commended Students Announced
The Shaker Heights Schools have 15 National Merit Commended Students to go along with their 17 National Merit Semifinalists.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Fifteen Shaker Heights High students were named National Merit Commended Students this week.
Shaker Heights High already boasted 17 National Merit Semifinalists, who were announced earlier this month as part of the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. Both Commended Students and Semifinalists qualified for their awards by performing exceptionally on the PSAT.
This year's Commended Students are: Agatha Augustine, Owen Bang, Chethan Chandra, William Corbin, Ruby Cover, Reilly Dean, Samuel Grube, Henry Harte, Dominic Mayhew, Keegan Polatz, Aziza Reddy, Martina Richter, Ryan Shane, Colt Simonelli and James Stewart.

This year's crop of Shaker Semifinalists are: Nichele Abeyesundere, Kjell Aspelin, Grace Bourdrez, Jonathan Brinkley, Mia Compton-Engle, Jacob Feinleib, Caroline Lamb, Avery Maytin, Tyler Nordstrom, Benjamin Rakow, Ivan Sadowsky, Luca Sakiewicz, Benjamin Schattinger, Somiya Schirokauer, Katerina Steiber, Julia Strasburg and Eva Xiao.

"These scholastically talented seniors are considered top candidates for admission to the most selective colleges. National Merit Scholarship winners of 2022 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April 2022 and concluding July 2022," the Shaker Heights Schools said in a statement.
