Stow Mayor John Pribonic is seeking Stow residents that have an interest in improving the Stow City Government to fill vacancies on two commissions. Appointments to these vacancies are made by the Mayor and confirmed by Stow City Council.

Stow residents are needed to fill three vacancies on the Cityβs Arts Commission. The Arts Commission initiates, sponsors or conducts special programs for the City to further public awareness of and interest in the arts,Β provides opportunities to develop the cultural climate of the City, and works to advance the community in ways that are marked by a sense of belonging, stewardship, and willingness to act for the common good. The Commission is comprised ofΒ thirteen Stow residents that are appointed to 5-year terms. The vacancies are for new terms that begin January 2, 2022, and expire January 2, 2027. The commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm, usually at Stow city hall.Β One need not be an artist to apply.
A Stow resident is needed to fill a vacancy on the Cityβs Senior Citizenβs Commission. The Senior Citizenβs Commission makes recommendations to the City government for changing needs in senior citizen recreational services, and promotes an awareness of senior citizen activities and services, so as to increase the number of our senior citizens that participate in and have access to programs for seniors.Β The Commission meets at least four times each year, and is comprised of seven members with 3-year terms. The vacancy is for an unexpired term that will run through January 2, 2023.
