Farmer's Market at Church of Christ to Return in June
Stow City Council expected to sign off on market plan

For the third year running, the Stow Community United Church of Christ Farmer's Market plans to return in June.
Market coordinators Gary Aleman and Mike Osman asked Stow City Council for the city's blessing to run the market, which will return June 8 to the church.
Council is expected to sign off on the request from the church for the market at tonight's meeting.

"It’s grown steadily," Aleman told council Monday. "And we’re very proud of what we’ve done so far."
The market started three years ago with three vendors. The market averaged 14 vendors each Saturday at its height last year.

"Rain or shine people expect us to show up," Aleman said. "If it’s 40 degrees and raining we still have a farmer’s market."
The market will run each Saturday starting June 8 through Oct. 5. The market hours are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Stow Planning Director Rob Kurtz said the only concern that's risen with the market is choosing the location of its temporary signs so they don't cause a sight issue for drivers.
"There’s no complaints regarding parking," he said.
Councilwoman Mary Bednar directed Kurtz to have the city's zoning compliance officer work with the church on the location of the market signs.
Aleman said this year they worked with students in the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools to design a logo for the market.
"They were pretty pumped for putting that together for us," he said.
