Scrap Thieves Keep Hitting Stow Businesses

Theft of metal material, likely for scrap, remains a problem for Stow.

Leipold Tire is the latest victim of scrap thieves.

An employee at the tire and repair shop told Stow Police someone broke a padlock and pried open a clasp on a storage gate in order to gain access to scrap metal at the business.

The thief or thieves managed to steal two 55-gallon plastic drums filled with various scrap metal valued at $480 during the weekend of July 13-15.
