Student Spent Part Of Weekend In Strongsville High, Police Searched Building
Strongsville police searched the building to ensure there was no threat to students or staff.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — A student spent part of the weekend inside Strongsville High School, unsupervised, prompting the district to cancel classes on Monday.
"Although there was no specific threat made to the high school, I did have concerns about a student being unsupervised at the school for an extended period of time," Superintendent Cameron Ryba said in a message shared with the community via social media.
Strongsville Police confirmed that a 16-year-old student was found inside the high school on Sunday. The student may have spent Saturday night and part of Sunday inside the building, according to police documents obtained by Patch.

After the student's discovery by police, officers conducted a "thorough search" of the building.
Out of an "abundance of caution," Ryba decided to cancel classes on Monday and then conduct a second search of the building. Strongsville High staff searched classrooms and work areas to ensure nothing was out of place and nothing concerning had been left in any part of the school.
