Upcoming Road Work On I-90, I-480, Pearl Road Could Impact You
The Ohio Department of Transportation is running construction projects that will impact western Cuyahoga County this weekend and beyond.
CLEVELAND — As spring thaws northern Ohio, flowers won't be the only thing bringing color to the region. Orange cones will bring similar flair to Buckeye State highways.
Patch has compiled a list of some of the upcoming Ohio Department of Transportation highway projects that could impact your morning and evening commutes or weekend getaway plans. Check out all the upcoming projects below.
I-90
The I-90, SR 252 (Columbia Road) interchange project.

- Crews are working on the northern half of I-90 west and Columbia Road in Westlake.
- Starting April 11, Sperry Road, just east of Columbia, will be limited to eastbound traffic only. Those restrictions will continue through May.
- Drivers going west will be detoured to Clague Road to Detroit Road back to Columbia.
I-480
I-480 pavement replacement and ramp re-alignment.
- Starting Monday, at 8 p.m., and continuing through 5 a.m. Tuesday, the following highway closures will be implemented.
- SR 176 south to I-480 east will be closed.
- Detour along SR 176 to I-480 west to State Road south to I-480 east
- SR 176 south to Brookpark Road will be closed.
- Detour along SR 176 south to I-480 west to State Road south to Brookpark Road.
- SR 176 south to I-480 east will be closed.
I-480 noise wall construction will take place between Sterns Road and SR 252 in North Olmsted.

- Starting April 11, I-480 will have lane restrictions between SR 252 and Sterns Road. Restrictions will remain in place through late October.
As part of the county bridge upgrades, an I-480 west ramp will be briefly closed Friday and Saturday.
The I-480 west ramp to W. 130th will be closed starting at 9 p.m. April 1 through 4 p.m. April 2.
Miscellaneous Impacts
Pearl Road resurfacing will continue this month, with new impacts starting Monday.
On Monday, Pearl Road, just north of Ridge and south of Snow, will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Those lane restrictions will continue through at least October 2022.
