Mahoning, Trumbull County agencies receive traffic safety grants (wfmj.com) — Warren drivers will see stepped-up traffic enforcement thanks to more than $229,000 in new state grants for the Warren Police Department’s OVI task force and summer holiday patrols. The funding is part of $23 million awarded statewide, with several Mahoning and Trumbull County agencies also receiving money for impaired driving crackdowns, safe community programs, and high-visibility enforcement. 
2. Resident survey will determine Warren Township goals for long term plan (wfmj.com) — Warren Township leaders are preparing a resident survey to update the township’s long-range comprehensive plan for the first time since the 1980s. Your responses will guide five-, 10-, and 20-year goals on sidewalks, safety facilities, housing, and redevelopment of vacant land as the area braces for new jobs and potential growth.
3. About 900 earn degrees at YSU (tribtoday.com) — A Warren-born jazz trumpeter and composer, Sean Jones, returned to the region to deliver an inspiring commencement address to about 900 Youngstown State University graduates, urging them to embrace improvisation and recognize when they are “enough.” His speech capped ceremonies that highlighted nontraditional and first-generation students, including an 83-year-old graduate, and underscored how perseverance and community support can reshape life paths at any age.
4. Thomas J. Soltis, Jr., Warren, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Warren residents are mourning the passing of 53-year-old Thomas J. Soltis, Jr., a lifelong Warren native who died Friday at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Family and friends can pay their respects Wednesday afternoon at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, and the family suggests memorial contributions to Fairhaven Special Olympics in nearby Niles.
5. Paul Thomas Fridley, Warren, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Warren is saying goodbye to 68-year-old Paul Thomas Fridley, a longtime resident and Warren Western Reserve High School graduate who passed away Saturday at home. Remembered for his years at General Motors and love of fishing and camping, he leaves behind family in Warren, Bazetta, and beyond. Per his wishes, no services will be held.

It started snowing again and they haven't plowed, at least not where I am. There is way more snow this time than the last time they closed schools… (Nextdoor Mahoning River) - Going to post this one more time on here, 2007 Nissan quest minivan driven 176,000 miles runs and drives amazing, has been to Toledo a few times in the last few months traveling over the holidays.
