Clerk of Courts employee indicted on theft in office, tampering (vindy.com) — A Warren-based session of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court has indicted a Trumbull County Clerk of Courts employee on theft in office and multiple records-tampering charges tied to the Auto Title Department. The Niles woman is now on unpaid leave while facing several felony counts that allegedly stem from activity earlier this year, with potential prison time if convicted.

2. Trumbull leaders to vote on dog warden departure (vindy.com) — In Warren, Trumbull County commissioners are set to accept the dog warden’s resignation and quickly line up interviews for both the chief and assistant positions, with interim oversight of the pound under discussion. The same workshop exposed serious questions about a senior-levy funded grass-cutting program, as officials debated whether to pay a disputed $14,000 invoice and demanded better documentation to protect levy dollars for older residents.
   

3. Man pleads guilty in Niles fatal hit-and-run (wkbn.com) — A Warren man has pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to charges stemming from a fatal October hit-and-run in Niles. He admitted to aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop, and vehicular manslaughter, and will be sentenced after a background investigation, underscoring serious legal consequences for Warren residents involved in crashes.
   

4. Commissioners: Local, Union Workers Active on Kimberly-Clark Project (businessjournaldaily.com) — Warren residents are seeing big job and construction gains as Trumbull County commissioners confirm that local union workers are heavily involved in building Kimberly-Clark’s new $800 million plant in the city. Officials say the project could bring about 600 jobs, may lead to a new $160 million distribution center, and could even prompt closing part of Pine Avenue if the company expands further.
   

5. Heartland Christian holds off Warren JFK to improve to 5-0 (vindy.com) — Heartland Christian edged Warren JFK 58-56 in a tense boys basketball matchup played in Warren, handing the Eagles their second straight two-point loss. The Lions earned their first-ever win in JFK’s gym, riding a 26-point night from Collin Kalaher, while Warren JFK now looks to rebound at home Friday against Mogadore.
