Child Porn Investigation Leads FBI to Bay Village Home

A national child pornography probe prompted FBI agents to raid a Lake Road home on Thursday

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio: A national child pornography investigation led police and the FBI to an Avon Lake home Thursday.

FBI agents from Detroit raided a home on Lake Road that once belonged to former Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmer, who sold the property last year for early $1.6 million. The home’s new owners’ names were not disclosed, but the FBI said no one associated with the Browns had anything to do with the case.

Agents from the FBI and Southeast Michigan Trafficking and Exploitation Crimes Task Force could be seen removing dozen of boxes as well as several computers from the home.

The raid was part of a national probe, which led to other similar raids at homes in other states over the last several weeks. The Lake Road property was the only home in Ohio involved in the investigation.
