• Former Westlake nursing home worker accused of stealing from residents (cleveland19.com) — A former State Tested Nursing Assistant at a Westlake nursing home is accused of taking residents’ credit cards and making thousands of dollars in purchases at various businesses. Westlake police say at least eight residents were affected, and the suspect now faces multiple identity fraud and receiving stolen property charges in Cuyahoga County Court.

He’s highlighted alongside standout athletes from nearby schools in basketball and bowling. • 85-year-old Westlake man loses thousands after being tricked by scammers (cleveland19.com) — An 85-year-old Westlake resident lost $20,000 after scammers convinced him his computer and bank account were compromised, then directed him to withdraw cash and deposit it into a crypto ATM in Parma. Westlake police are urging residents to warn older relatives and neighbors that any request to withdraw cash, use crypto ATMs, or buy gift cards is a scam.
