Unity Spiritual Center invites the community to a transformative Easter Sunday service on April 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at 23855 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH. This special service, presented by Rev. Dr. Richard Loren Held, will explore the Easter message of resurrection as a profound symbol of overcoming challenges, spiritual renewal, and the realization of our divine potential.

At Unity Spiritual Center, Easter is seen as an opportunity to reflect on the example of
Jesus Christ—not just as a historical figure, but as a model for spiritual growth. The
Easter story serves as a powerful reminder that no matter the hardships we face, they
do not define our ultimate reality. Instead, we are called to rise above appearances,
embrace our inner divinity, and trust in the divine plan unfolding in our lives.

A highlight of the service will be the Living Cross, also known as The Flowering Cross—a
beloved tradition symbolizing transformation and rebirth. Congregants will have the
opportunity to place fresh flowers on a bare wooden cross, that when assembled, turns
into a vibrant, living symbol of resurrection and new life. This powerful visual
representation of renewal beautifully captures the essence of the Easter message,
illustrating the journey from struggle to spiritual awakening.

The cross will remain throughout the day for individual reflection, prayer, and
meditation. All are welcome to stay for as long as they wish. An Easter potluck meal is
also planned to start at 6 p.m. Please register at for the potluck www.uscwestlake.org.

In preparation for this Easter Sunday service, a special Holy Thursday service will be held
on April 17 at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Held will be joined by Music Director, Matthew Wilson, and
the USC Prayer Chaplains for a contemplative Holy Week service. It will include rituals of bread and wine, the washing of feet, a Twelve Powers Meditation and a community candle lighting.
