Westlake Mother Faces Child Endangerment Charges for Letting 14-month old Wander Outside for Third Time

Westlake police have visited the mother three times, each time for reports of a child wandering off alone.

Heidi Brown of Westlake has a court date at Rocky River Municipal Court on Tuesday for Child Endangerment. Brown pleaded not guilty to child endangerment on June 1st according to court records.

"Police have only been to my house twice," Brown told cleveland.com. She said that the child was on the front porch and wouldn't comment further.

According to Captain Guy Turner, the Westlake Police have been to Heidi Brown's home on Washington Way three times since February, each time for reports of a child wandering off alone.

Cleveland.com reports that on May 20, a neighbor called Westlake police to report a child out walking the 29000 block of Washington Way. Officers responded to call and found the child on the front porch. Brown told police that she didn't know the child was outside.

The May 20th incident was the third time, Brown was not charged for the previous two complaints.
