• City of Wilmington Announces Reduced Transit Hours Starting February 1, 2026 (realchangewilmington.com) — Wilmington Transit will shorten its weekday and Saturday service hours to 6:30 am–9:00 pm starting February 1, 2026, while Sunday hours stay the same. City officials say low late-night ridership drove the change and are inviting residents to a December 30 public meeting at the City Building to ask questions and share feedback.

• Wilmington College's Giving Tuesday Promotion Exceeds $100K goal (realchangewilmington.com) — Wilmington College has blown past its $100,000 Giving Tuesday goal, raising more than $155,000 to support student “Travel with Purpose” experiences from service trips to study abroad. Local alumni, trustees, staff, and friends contributed major challenge gifts and matches, helping unlock new funds for poetry, agriculture, esports, language enrichment, and student life opportunities tied directly to the Wilmington campus community.

• Hurricane bowlers sweep rival Falcons at Royal Z Lanes (wnewsj.com) — Wilmington High School’s boys and girls bowling teams swept rival Clinton-Massie at Royal Z Lanes, keeping the girls unbeaten in league play. Standout performances from Kiley Comberger’s 405 series and Colt Fisher’s 495 series highlighted a strong night for Hurricane bowlers and local fans.
