Commissioners Receive SEAT Update - WHIZ - Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting (whiznews.com) — Public transit in Zanesville is staying busy, with South East Area Transit reporting over 220,000 trips so far this year and a 99.6% on-time rate. The director briefed Muskingum County Commissioners on free fixed-route service, demand-response rides, and crucial medical and work transportation that helps residents get to jobs and appointments across the area. 
2. Courthouse Evacuation - WHIZ - Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting (whiznews.com) — An automated fire alarm forced everyone out of the Muskingum County Courthouse in downtown Zanesville Monday morning, sending workers into single-digit temperatures while firefighters checked the bell tower. Assistant Chief Doug Hobson says a triggered heat detector, possibly from steam, set off the system, and crews are now reviewing both the alarm equipment and future evacuation procedures.
3. Audit Advisory for Tuesday, December 16, 2025 (einpresswire.com) — Ohio’s Auditor of State will release a new batch of reports Tuesday that includes a financial audit with findings for recovery for the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority. This review covers 2023–2024 and is part of a statewide push to track how public money is managed across dozens of agencies and communities.
4. MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game (Monday, December 15th) (whiznews.com) — Even with Zanesville’s bitter cold, area high school hoops are heating up as two standout players earn MVHC “Players of the Game” honors. John Glenn senior Stehl Bates poured in 22 points on Z92’s Friday broadcast, while Morgan’s Clayton Blackburn sparked a road win at New Lexington with 13 points and three assists.
