Here are the top 3 stories today in Oklahoma City:
- Two people have been arrested following a slow-speed chase in Oklahoma City. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle near 29th Street and Meridian Avenue and the driver refused to stop. Police say they deployed tools to stop the truck when the chase reached 15th Street, where they arrested 32-year-old Brandon Atchley and 31-year-old Rachel Quinn. (KFOR Oklahoma City)
- City officials say a technical error is to blame for a livestream failure during the MAPS 4 Citizens Advisory Board meeting on Thursday. The meeting, scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., went on as usual and was carried on the City’s cable channel, but those without cable access were unable to view the proceedings. Video of the meeting was uploaded to the City’s YouTube channel later on Thursday afternoon. (Oklahoma City Free Press)
- Santa Fe South Charter School officials expressed concern about plans to bring a medical marijuana operation to the former Crossroads Mall and Plaza Mayor. The proposed grow operation would be located in the southern wing of the former mall, which is next door to the school. According to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, state law prohibits dispensaries from being within 1,000 feet of a school but does not currently restrict where grow operations are allowed.
