Here are the top stories today in Oklahoma City:

  1. Oklahoma City Public Schools has transitioned two more schools to virtual learning due to illness among teachers and staff. Coolidge Elementary, Taft Middle School, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary, and Moon Middle School will all participate in asynchronous learning until at least Jan. 14. All five campuses will offer curbside pickup for meals. (Oklahoma City Free Press)
  2. The Homeless Alliance has made its emergency overflow beds available to Oklahoma City residents who need shelter from the freezing weather. Executive Director Dan Straughan says that on nights where the temperature is forecasted to be 32 degrees or below, the day shelter opens as a night shelter that can hold up to 80 people. The Homeless Alliance gives a 48-hour notice if the shelter will be open overnight. (KOKH FOX25)
  3. Oklahoma City police are investigating after a body was found inside of a burning car. The car was discovered on Monday in the 1800 block of Belle Isle Boulevard near North Classen Boulevard and Northwest Expressway. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the victim. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
